word |wərd|

The Oxford English Dictionary defines 'Word (one’s word) a person’s account of the truth, (one’s word) a promise or assurance.

With that said...

While taking the lengthy, mind numbing & less than boring MetroNorth train ride from Hobokon to my home, I had the pleasure off thinking & sorting thru countless thoughts & ideas. The one thought that plagued me the most is the inability of many people I have met, be it personal or professional, who have failed to keep their word.

I just don't get it. Why would someone intentional offer, in any capacity, their Word if they were not going to keep it? To me, that is a criminal offense to the basic principals of morality. It's an insult & punishment to ethics & truth. That just seems like too grand of an assault on ones most valuable attribute. Their Word.

Isn't easier to simply say....ahh.... the truth? Isn't easier to speak earnestly & with simplicity?

When a person is striped of all their material gains, their physical composition, & societal heights, all that is left is their intelligence & their Word.

At the end of the day, at the last stop of that train ride, & when all is said & done, the your personal constitution is your Word!
